At Texas Foot Specialists, we work hard to ensure that your appointments with us are efficient, productive and friendly. Our goal is for you to leave our Sugar Land (281-242-4448), Pasadena (281-991-0600) and Houston (713-664-6677) offices confident that you understand your diagnosis and the treatment plan that our podiatrists, Dr. Bruce Miller or Dr. Gregory Mangum, have prescribed.

As a patient, you can assist us in achieving this goal by doing a little prep before coming in for your appointment. Below are some questions to help you gather the necessary information to smooth the way for a satisfying appointment.

What’s bothering you? The more details about your foot or ankle discomfort that you can give to the foot doctor, the faster he’ll be able to get to the source of the problem. Pinpoint exactly where the pain or other symptoms are located, how long you’ve had the symptoms, do they come and go or are they constant, do they get worse with activity. These are all keys to determining what’s wrong.

Are my shoes part of the problem? If you notice that the symptoms of your condition are worse when you are working out or after you wear a particular pair of shoes or boots, bring the footwear with you. Sometimes the wear pattern on the shoe will provide additional clues.

What do I want to know? The best way to make sure that all your questions and concerns are addressed is to write them down and bring the list with you to the office. Before you leave, check the list over and make sure that all your questions have been answered.

What other medical issues am I currently dealing with? It’s important that the podiatrist has a complete picture of your overall health in order to properly treat a foot disorder. In addition to getting a medical history from you, the foot doctor will want to know about any other medical conditions you have or are currently being treated for, what medications you take, allergies that you have and whether or not you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant.

Do I have any special needs for my appointment? Check to see if your insurance requires a referral. If you use a wheelchair or need other physical accommodations, let our office know ahead of time.

Contact us with any foot issues you have. We look forward to helping you get relief from your foot and ankle problems promptly!
